SK Services began as a side business by Steve McMillan and Matt Fahey in 2013 as a way to make a little extra spending money using their knowledge of fertilizer and weed control products and techniques which they had learned while working on golf courses in the Abilene Area.  Since 2013 SK services grew and it was realized that there was a tremendous need for a service that could provide customized services based on their clients individual needs.  In 2017 Steve and Matt decided to pursue SK Services as a full time venture adding irrigation and consulting services.  At SK Services we're passionate in our mission to provide personalized services tailored to meet your expectations and site specific needs of your residential or commercial lawn, sports field or golf course.

Steve grew up in San Angelo and was the kid down the street mowing lawns and raking leaves for the neighborhood.  By the age of 20 he was a partner in San Angelo Lawn Service which maintained 70+ home lawns while attending college and working on the golf course at San Angelo Country Club.  Steve left San Angelo to attend Western Texas College in Snyder obtaining an associates degree in golf/turf management. In 1992 he began his career at the Abilene Country Club, remaining there until 2017 as the head superintendent over both the Club and Fairway courses.

Matt grew up in Abilene and got started here in the turf business in 1995 when he started working for The Toro Company's irrigation support division.  In 1997, Matt went to work for Steve at the Abilene Country Club and quickly moved up the ladder to irrigation tech and then an assistant superintendent.  He then became the superintendent at the Fairway Course when the club purchased it in 2007
